TEG Recruits VP of Inside Sales for Hybrid IT Provider Flexential

NEW YORK (August 20, 2019) – TEG, the technology-focused search firm making high-impact hires, has recruited Kevin Fitzgerald as vice president of inside sales for Flexential. The company is a leading provider of hybrid IT solutions owned by private investment firm GI Partners and based in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.

Fitzgerald will report to Chief Revenue Officer Patrick Doherty and is a critical addition as Flexential embarks on a spate of expansions. He has more than 20 years of experience in inside sales, using his strategic vision to build and lead revenue-generating teams.

Since Peak 10 and ViaWest combined and rebranded as Flexential in 2017, the company has focused on growing its data center portfolio nationwide. This year alone, it has announced major expansions in Portland, Oregon, and Nashville, Tennessee, while adding 70,000 square feet to its Atlanta colocation facility.

Fitzgerald was identified through a rigorous search process led by Marci Nigro, a partner at TEG. Nigro described him as a highly successful and experienced sales executive who is “customer-centric, competitive, and strategic.”

“He understands the important role psychology plays in developing and managing customer relationships, sales teams, and the sales process,” Nigro said. “Flexential will also benefit from Kevin’s intimacy with market trends and a metrics-driven approach to driving high performance and growth.”

Fitzgerald has a strong track record in inside sales, marketing, and product management. Most recently, he served as vice president of inside sales at Iron Mountain, an industry leader in storage and information management services. During his 14-year tenure at Iron Mountain, he ran the company’s inside SMB sales team. Before that, he served in numerous lead- and revenue-generating roles at nationwide data and voice communications provider ICG Communications.

This hire represents the 12th placement TEG has made on Flexential’s sales team. Furthermore, TEG sister company Acertitude, which specializes in board and leadership searches, recruited Dave Haskell as executive vice president of strategic sales for Flexential last fall.

Fitzgerald holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in telecommunication from the University of Denver.
